Greenwich Cop Who Quit Changes Mind
Greenwich patrolman Gary L. Barber withdrew his resignation after a Dec. 3 letter, stating he reconsidered. Council did not discuss the letter, and had delayed resignation action pending full council vote. The village approved a 1975 temporary budget of 412544 with allocations across funds including power and light, general, water, library, cemetery, street, park, sewer, safety, service, and revenue sharing. The council awarded a two year garbage pickup contract to Russell Gutshell for 5.75 per three months with weekly pickups and self billing. Additional items include pay raises for Greenwich Ripley volunteer fire department leadership and members, a 12 hour Main Street parking ordinance draft, and bids sought for a new police cruiser.

Multiple Vehicle Crashes Reported West of Greenwich
A bumper to turn collision on U S 224 two miles west of Greenwich injures one driver and leads to a citation for improper passing. A second crash on a ramp from U S 250 involved a jackknifed truck with fuel leak but no injuries. A minor backing crash on Woodlawn Avenue leads to a charge for improper backing and another parking lot collision involving Boxboard Packaging.
