New London wrestling team led by coach Bob Hasseman traveled to St Marys for a triangular with Willard and the Panthers. The Wildcats fell to Willard 43 23 and St Marys 37 19 while John Kruki at 175 pounds posted strong wins. Ongoing struggles and illness hampered Kozel, but Perkins and Meade won twice apiece to show the squad’s grit. The Wildcats idle until January 6 for the Black River classic.

Trojans fall to Clear Fork in Ontario Invitational game
Ontario South Central's girls basketball team the Trojans coached by Renee Hicks were eliminated in their Ontario Invitational debut with a 29-26 loss to Clear Fork. Hicks noted better play the next day after a 54-17 season opener defeat to Mapleton as Clear Fork's zone defense and improved shooting stifled the Trojans. Angie Seigfried led with 12 points.

No Advance Sale For Flashes Games At Willard High
Willard High School athletic officials announced there will be no advance sale of tickets for the Flashes game at Upper Sandusky on Friday. Advance tickets for the Lorain Catholic game on December 27 and the Lexington game on December 30 at Willard gym will be sold at the school, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 p.m. Friday. Additional Lexington sales are set for December 27 and 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Faculty Manager's office.
