Cleveland lawmakers consider raising annual pay from 8500 to 12500 with the increase taking effect January 1, 1970. Mayor Stokes supports the raise while Citizens League members urge restraint at 2500.
Denise Dent and Mike Maunus earned first and second in Yale Artists annual window painting contest at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital. Denise and Sharon Peadon are Norwalk High juniors. Mike is a Norwalk High senior. Beryl Bird is a St. Paul’s junior. Judges were Julius Mihali Adele Andrews and Mrs Betty Widman. First prize pays $10, second $5.
Jordanian military spokesman said Israeli troops shelled As-Safi south of the Dead Sea for 15 minutes injuring two women and a child and destroying two houses. A separate Amman statement confirmed the attack and casualties.
