Bill D. Moyers quits as President Johnsons press secretary to become publisher and chief operating officer of Newsday. He will be succeeded by George Christian and will take the new role February 1. Jacobsen will return to private law practice in Austin after January 1. Moyers denies any link to a Saigon ambassadorial post and says he never discussed it with the President.

Monroeville Council Approves Village Salary Increases
At a special joint meeting Tuesday night the Monroeville village council and board of public affairs approved 1967 pay raises for four key staffers. Myron J. Gerber, Walter J. Greilich, Jerrold D. Henery, and Roscoe G. Oetzel see monthly increases to 575 dollars. Henery also remains street commissioner earning 20 dollars more. Other village workers Joseph Gravenhorst and Walter C. Hauser gain 50 dollars from 440 to 490 dollars.

Greenwich Teens Admit Gas Thefts At Farm Equipment

Mark Steven Willey four year old son of Rev Larry Willey and Mrs Marlene Lash Willey was struck by a car Monday afternoon in Mt Pleasant Iowa while returning from nursery school.
