Girl In Coma 2 1/2 Months By Kevin Tanzillo

A six year old Norwalk girl, Michelle Franklin, has been in a coma since September 28 from Reye's Syndrome, a rare brain and liver disease. Doctors report 200 U.S. cases in 12 years and note this case lasts far longer than others. The family plans home care after the new year as doctors monitor brain function and joint mobility.

Charity Fund For Michelle Franklin Fund Opens

Taft II may seek Ohio House seat in Cincinnati

New London Boy Burned in Home Fire

A 13-year-old rural New London boy Robin Crouch suffered extensive burns after a closet wiring fire at his Fitchville River Road home. He is in fair condition at Metro General Hospital after four hours of firefighting. Red Cross seeks clothing donations for the family.

Doctors Elect New President

Dr. William B. Holman, Norwalk coroner, was elected president of the Huron County Medical Society. He succeeds Dr. J.W. Emery of Willard. Dr. D. Ross Irons of Bellevue is vice president, Dr. Shan Mohammed of Norwalk is secretary-treasurer, with Dr. N.M. Camardese as delegate and Dr. E.R. McLoney as alternate delegate. New officers assume January.
