Western Reserve Roughriders overturned a 34-30 halftime deficit, outscoring South Central 49-31 in the second half to win 79-65. Eric Robson scored 24 and Dave Timbs 26 for WR, while Mike Clark led SC with 27. WR improves to 4-0, 2-0 in league. South Central falls to 0-2, 1-3. WR hosts South Amherst next.
Edison stayed tied atop the Firelands Conference with Western Reserve after a 65 52 victory over Monroeville Friday night. Clee Slone and Todd Brown led the Chargers with 22 and 15 points respectively as Edison overcame an early Monroeville surge and pulled away late. Joe Hamilton topped Monroeville with 12 points.
Mapleton used a 50 percent shooting night to defeat New London 65-57. Chris Crossen led Mapleton with 16 points, Tim Rogers had five assists and eight points, while four Mounties scored in double figures. Stan Cooke top-scored for New London with 18 as the Wildcats shot 21 of 57 and committed 14 turnovers.
