An Austin Powder Co plant blast in MC Arthur Ohio killed three workers named David Jarvis Roger Ervin and Steve McVey in the jelly dynamite section. The 6 15 p m explosion damaged a 40 by 60 foot building on the 1300 acre site. One employee was slightly injured and hospitals reported no other victims. authorities opened an investigation to determine the cause.
