Greenwich Man Robbed At Gunpoint By Two Masked Bandits

Greenwich resident Boone says two masked men stopped his car on Kniffin Street near Sunoco shortly after midnight. He reports a gun was held to his head while a second man opened the door and took $75 to $80 from his wallet. The attackers were described as middle aged and wearing red spotted attire.

Willard Airman Awarded DFC for heroism in Vietnam

Willard High School graduate Captain Larry D. McLaughlin of Willard received the Distinguished Flying Cross at El Centro Naval Air Facility for heroic actions during combat missions in Southeast Asia. He saved wounded Vietnamese troops after his helicopter sustained ground fire. He also earned the Bronze Star Medal and a sixth oak leaf cluster to the Air Medal. He serves in Air Force Systems Command and is married to Patti Miller of Willard. Kennedy promotes national lottery draft plan at conference in Chicago.

Norwalk Auxiliary Police Elects Doughty Leader

Jump Polls 3000 Ballots on Time Standard Support

Ohio legislator Harry V. Jump reports over 3000 ballots in his district on standard time vs daylight saving. He says results favor standard time though final majority unclear. If lawmakers do not act by January 28, Ohio will switch to daylight saving on April 1. Final counts expected by Wednesday.

How Kids Use New Libraries in Norwalk Schools

One library was fully locally funded, while the other two rely on federal reimbursement for a $5,307 librarian salary. At League Pleasant and Maplehurst centers, students gather after school for reading and checkout. From Nov 1965 to Nov 1966 Maplehurst circulated 24 102 volumes across 4 400 titles, with 7 124 circulations last month. League center circulates about 1 100 volumes with October 1 334 and November 1 280.
