Stamford based UPI reports Margaret Bourke-White, famed Life Magazine photographer of pivotal events and figures, died Friday at 67 from Parkinson's disease. She worked with Life from 1936 and until two years ago. A memorial service is planned next month.

Explosion Rocks Tall California State Office Building

An anonymous call from the Weather Underground warned of a blast on the sixth floor of the 17 story Department of Corrections building in Sacramento. The explosion demolished rest rooms, caused thousands in damage, and evacuated workers amid prior bomb threats. no injuries were reported.

Plea for funds for Our Little Miss World pageant

Steve Smith says his daughter Teri Sue, nine, will go to the Our Little Miss World pageant in Miami Beach despite a funds shortage. Only 2 dollars has been collected for travel, with $309 needed for plane tickets for three. Local Jaycees and a Clyde family are covering most expenses.
