Firelands to Receive 2.4 Million for Building Expansion
The Huron Firelands Campus of Bowling Green State University is set to gain a 2.4 million dollar state appropriation from the Ohio Board of Regents to fund at least one new building. A three floor classroom building and a two story library and student services building already opened last year. A committee of campus officials and local business leaders will decide the next facilities for the Rye Beach Road site southwest of Huron. The move supports Firelands becoming a regional center for technical education serving Huron Erie and Ottawa counties and may lead to a two year associate degree in technical education.
