Ten people were held hostage today at Chessie System headquarters on the 36th floor of Terminal Tower in Cleveland. A gunman described as a disgruntled former employee, Ashley Leach of Huntington, Virginia, armed with a shotgun and pistol, held 10 hostages including Vice President Robert McGowan and secretaries Maralou Hoffman and Joan Endrvick. Mobile Crime Lab to Aid Huron County Police
Sheriff John Borgia announced a mobile crime laboratory will be available to all police agencies in Huron County funded by a $12,450 grant from state and federal sources. The North Star Council of Governments arranged the grant with county costs split at 723 for the county and 617 for the state. bids will be advertised and Borgia serves as project director.
