Five year old Maria Giannaris, the world’s youngest heart transplant recipient, died after a cardiac arrest a week following a new heart at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the tenth transplant patient for Dr. Denton A. Cooley and the third to die post op. Meanwhile UPI reports on a U.S. siege lift near Khe Sanh and other war notes.
A Draft Kennedy for President operation opened in Chicago as Humphrey led the delegate count. Sen Edward Kennedy denied involvement while Michigan Senator Hart endorsed him, Daley dismissed the bid, and Kennedy remained unavailable for national office after his brother's death.
Thirty seven police officials from eleven foreign countries will visit the Norwalk Police Department Friday morning as part of the International Police Academy program for police administrators in Washington. The group arrives at 9 30 a m and leaves at noon for a ten day observation during the 17 week academy course.
Rose Lippert 61 of 13 Rule St. treated at Fisher-Titus Hospital for a sprained neck after a rear end collision on Route 250. George H. Lippert, his father in law, was driving south when the lead car slowed for a Cring Realty turn and was struck by Katheryne M. Summerlin of 25 Parsons St.
Pope Paul VI, 70, remains vigorous after an 11,600 mile Latin America tour. He will address the Czechoslovak issue again at a Wednesday audience after condemning Soviet moves during his Rome to Bogota journey. In Ohio, Heidelberg College names Dr. Leslie H. Fishel Jr. as president elect, succeeding Dr. Wickham who retires June 30 after 20 years.
Four Medina men aged 21, 21, 20, and 21 died when their car collided with a van backing from a private farm driveway on U S 42 near Medina. The Ohio Highway Patrol investigated the fatal crash as authorities pursued further details.

Czechoslovaks staged a 15 minute general strike in Prague to protest Soviet occupation. In Wenceslas Square crowds jeered Russian commands while tanks fired over heads. Russians responded with machinegun bursts as US diplomats called the Soviet reaction haphazard.
Virginia Beach reports Becky Godwin the 14 year old daughter of Governor Mills E Godwin was struck by a lightning bolt while fleeing a sudden thunderstorm in the surf at Camp Pendleton. She remained unconscious in hospital with doctors describing the condition as poor and saying there had been encouraging responses to treatment.
Washington reports former President Dwight D. Eisenhower facing increasing heart irritability and irregularities at Walter Reed. Doctors say his condition remains critical with no new episodes of rapid heart action after a weekend flare up. he had a light breakfast and rests comfortably.
