Jurors in UPI reported proceedings in Cleveland as twelve jurors weigh a 46 million lawsuit filed by the parents of four Kent State students killed and nine wounded on May 4 1970. The alleged hostage was 66 copies of the U.S. Constitution, not a real person. He argued no actual threat, but the court said the threat itself met the crime.
Mobil Oil chairman Rawleigh Warner urges Congress to enact a phased decontrol of oil prices over an extended period and warns immediate action could shock the economy. The letter argues decontrolling the old oil now could cost consumers billions annually and spur higher prices, wages, and unemployment.
