HUD official Lydens resigns from Columbus post
Paul G. Lydens, local HUD director, announced Monday his resignation for personal reasons. Effective Sept. 29, the 40 year old will depart after leading the Columbus office since May 1974 following his prior role in Washington as deputy FHA commissioner. Fire Causes Over Thousand Dollars In New Home Damage
An early morning blaze damaged Russell Maze's newly built split level home at 128 S Linwood Ave. The fire stemmed from improperly installed insulation around two recessed ceiling lights. Fire Chief Elmer McGuckin called it a needless fire and said better insulation would have prevented it. Firefighters spent about two hours responding.
