Attendance at Norwalk’s municipal pool stood at 25,144 with two weeks left in the season and may not reach 30,000. Manager Tom Heckelman cites competition from private pools at two parks and the Elks Club, predicting a leveling off around 20,000 to 30,000 annually. He notes the pool’s capacity is 400 but peak crowds hit 1,082, and revenue may barely break even this year, with capital improvements unlikely.
