South Vietnamese court puts Ky on October ballot
The supreme court reversed itself and added Vice President Nguyen Cao Ky to the Oct 3 presidential ballot. Gen Duong Van Minh quit the race after charging Thieu’s campaign was rigged, leaving Thieu in a one man race, according to UPI reports from Saigon.

Witness Kern hits Medina at My Lai trial

Candy store owners slain after pie dispute in New York
Benjamin Spiewak 59 and his wife Helen 49 operated a candy store in New York. After a disagreement over pie substitutes two youths shot Spiewak, killing him, and wounded Mrs Spiewak who was in satisfactory condition. Police noted no robbery motive as the purse remained on the counter. Mayor Lindsay ordered all available police to pursue the attackers.
