New Look For Premium Book At Huron County Fair
The 1969 Huron County Fair premium book features a new red white and black cover and a longer narrower 152 page format. Kathleen Harris says 1 300 copies were printed and mailed to regular exhibitors. others may pick up at the fairgrounds office or area banks. The book lists all exhibit categories prizes and the junior fair. The fair runs September 9 through 14.

Melbourne captain pleads innocent in Evans collision case
Sydney based Captain John P. Stevenson of the aircraft carrier Melbourne faces two charges over the June collision with the destroyer Evans in SEATO exercises. Seventy four U.S. sailors died when the Evans was cut in two in the South China Sea. Bruce Sturgill, 17, of Athens, Ohio, accidentally shot himself while loading a shotgun after hunting with his parents in Scioto County.

Toll From Camille Tops 237 In Mississippi Gulf Coast
