Dr Sam Sheppard Returns to Ring in Jackson Match

Missing Norwalk teen after Ridge Road accident

A 16 year old Norwalk youth, Terry J. Smith of 21 Southgate Drive, disappeared after an accident Monday near Ridge Road. Police traced the car to him. his father says Terry left home around 3 30 and may have been seen in a blue station wagon with a woman and several youths. Authorities appeal for information.

Norwalk Voters Urged to Register by Wednesday

Norwalk faces a pivotal city council race this fall and informs residents that Wednesday is the last day to register. Registration offices will operate at precinct polling places from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Officials note county wide registration is new to Huron County and remind voters that after registering they need only vote every two years while keeping the same address and name.

Ohio state officials say a government computer misread tens of millions in 1968 wage data, cutting $80 million from county payroll totals. The annual report covered 40 786 county workers with wide variances, prompting a new substitute report after human error in programming and a planned reissue.

Fire destroys Rutherford B. Hayes School in Cleveland

Flames tore through Rutherford B. Hayes elementary on Cleveland's East Side causing $1.5 million in damage. The building was empty. one firefighter injured. Superintendent Paul W. Briggs said reopening would take at least two years and noted it was the fourth school lost to fire in three years, totaling about $6 million in damage.
