Bailey Pleads Innocent in Death of Stepson
Kenneth Ronald Bailey 27 of rural Norwalk pleaded not guilty in Common Pleas Court to three counts endangering a child and involuntary manslaughter connected to the death of Arthur Lee Keller II. Indicted by the Huron County Grand Jury last week, Bailey posted 10 percent of a $10,000 bond and was released from jail.

Fire destroys grain stubble on farm west of Steuben
North Fairfield Fire Department responded to a Sunday noon dispatch at the Tom Schaeffer farm west of Steuben where a field of grain stubble was burning and was extinguished by firefighters.

South Central Hikes Lunches and School Start Times
South Central Schools raise lunch prices to 45 cents for grades 1–7 and 55 cents for grades 8–12 with adults at 85 cents. Extra milk is six cents. Break-In Reported at Horse Shoe Bar in Milan Area
An attempted break-in was found at the Horse Shoe Bar on Milan Avenue with a tampered northside door lock but no entry due to an inside lock. A missing tool box, shoplifting and a stolen parking meter were reported Tuesday. Charles Sanders of rural Milan reported his toolbox stolen from a truck tractor at W. L. Mead.
