Norwalk Furniture Corporation hosted a company picnic for employees and families at the Huron County fairgrounds drawing more than 800 attendees. City officials joined in, with Councilman Louis Nardecchia, Service Director Morley Price, and Mayor Harold Finch each taking a dunk tank turn before a second barbecue at Memorial Lake Park for 343 city workers and relatives.

Norwalk Charter To Go To Printers For City Manager Plan
The Norwalk charter commission expects the draft to be sent to Squires Sanders and Dempsey in Cleveland next week for legal review to ensure compliance with state statute. Four thousand copies will be printed for residents before the November vote on replacing mayor council with a city manager mayor council system. The commission will meet to handle consultant recommendations. Weekend Crash Toll Rises With Several Injuries in Region
A Strongsville man, George Kiener, 63, was hospitalized in satisfactory condition at Fisher-Titus Memorial after a Route 250 rear end collision on Sunday night. Others injured included Mary Kiener, Else Look, and Ronald Boettcher. Across town, Thomas Tobin, 16, suffered injuries when his car skidded into an embankment on Fayette Road. Anthony Parlett, 19, of Shiloh, was not treated after a motorcycle crash near Willard. A second collision east of Willard involved Archie Bliss and James Stephens with Mrs. Stephens observed at Willard Area Hospital. Robert Reiderman, 24, of Republic, was charged with drunken driving after a Route 547 incident southwest of Monroeville. Karl Doerner, 48, Milan, swatted a bee while driving and hit a tree on Peru Center Road north of Monroeville.
