From Hooker to Best-Selling Memoir Author in Paris
Jeanne Cordelier, 34, a former Paris prostitute, lives in a refined fifth floor flat and writes The Life Memoirs of a French Hooker. Her autobiography sold 300,000 copies in France since 1976 and has been translated into 18 countries. She condemns prostitution as harmful and says it rose with society and the sexual revolution. She spent five years in brothels, then moved to Canada to raise a family before finishing her book in France.
