37th Division Begins Training at Camp Grayling
About 9,500 officers and men of the 37th Infantry Division will depart for two weeks of field training at Camp Grayling Michigan starting Saturday August 14. Gen Wilbur Fricke of Waynesville takes command, replacing Gen Windom, with major staff and brigade changes announced. The unit aims to maintain high readiness and resist a proposed downgrade to brigade size as Congress considers National Guard reform. Units will convoy to the camp from August 13 and stay in the field for the two weeks.
