Cincinnati Limited Derails in West Jefferson Injuring Four

The Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train derailed in West Jefferson Ohio after a broken engine coupling caused all ten cars to jump the tracks. About 70 passengers were aboard and four were injured, taken to Doctors Hospital in Columbus. none were in serious condition.

Hampton Plant Ready In Sept

Eugene Davidson will be general manager of the Hampton Baking Co. plant on Route 18 near Old State Road, nearing completion. The plant aims to start operation in early September to supply McDonald’s buns in Ohio and nearby cities, with 25 initial employees and five managers. Guilty plea in Windau case shocks Huron County court

Solon Man Becomes 250000th Visitor to Edison Birthplace

Rudolph Krejce of Solon and his family visited the Edison Birthplace in Milan to mark a milestone as the 250000th paid guest. The family toured the museum, met curator A E Galbraith Jr, and received a commemorative paperweight. The Edison Birthplace, opened in 1947, sits along the Milan Canal Basin and remains run by Madeleine Edison Sloane.
