UPI reports Francis Gary Powers, famed U2 pilot turned TV news helicopter reporter, died Monday while filming brushfires near a suburban Little League field in Los Angeles. He had parachuted from a U2 over Russia 17 years earlier and was imprisoned by the Soviets.
