Gasoline stations must charge separately for courtesy services

Washington reports new government rules require gasoline stations to bill separately for services once included in gas prices, such as windshield cleaning and tire checks. Safety stressed at Davis-Besse plant amid near miss

At Oak Harbor Ohio the Davis-Besse Power Plant superintendent said a past reactor malfunction was contained within 20 minutes avoiding a TMI scale accident. Meanwhile typhoon Hope battered the Philippines with 150 mph winds, killing reports and disruptions across Luzon.

Fatal Holiday Inn Fire in Cambridge Kills Nine

A Cambridge Holiday Inn blaze killed nine people and injured about 60 as guests fled smoke and flames. Linn Center budget boosts 1980 plan with new coordinator
