Viet Cong and North Vietnamese troops seized Saigon and raised the Viet Cong flag at the presidential palace. Reported capture of President Duong Van Minh followed the U.S. evacuation and marked a major communist victory after 35 years of war.

The Huron County Health Department will close at noon Thursday for the funeral of Dr. George F. Linn, the health commissioner who died Tuesday.
U S Air Force sergeant at Clark Air Base in the Philippines says he saw wealthy Vietnamese refugees wearing diamonds and gold bracelets at Tent City and wants reimbursement from refugees for their passage. He also reports being propositioned by Vietnamese women and cites a suitcase of money. The Air Force declined to comment.
