Air Force Academy dismisses Ohio cadet for lying

Air Force Academy cadet Chris Fairchild 18 from Columbus Ohio was dismissed for lying to an instructor in a midterm exam. An honor committee officer review board and executive board recommended expulsion. Fairchild plans to return home and enroll at Ohio State University studying political science, saying the incident stemmed from a regrettable mistatement.

Willard Police Dog Shot Wounds. Soldiering on

Willard police dog Sam a male German Shepherd drug sniffing and security dog was shot with a shotgun at 4 45 a m in a fenced enclosure near Sgt Thomas Ludban s home. Sam was in critical condition at a Fort Wayne veterinary hospital after surgery with 48 hours uncertain fate. The dog helped patrols and drug arrests and was bought two years ago. A separate incident saw William Sawyer III charged with weapon while under disability after a disorderly call and gun handling near his home.
