Willard police dog Sam a male German Shepherd drug sniffing and security dog was shot with a shotgun at 4 45 a m in a fenced enclosure near Sgt Thomas Ludban s home. Sam was in critical condition at a Fort Wayne veterinary hospital after surgery with 48 hours uncertain fate. The dog helped patrols and drug arrests and was bought two years ago.
