Philadelphia Youth Dangles From Window Ledge During Court Bail Hearing
Thomas Dickerson, 19, addicted to drugs for two years, leapt from a sixth floor courtroom window in Philadelphia and rested on an eight inch ledge as firemen lifted him to safety. Judge Vito Canuso, who had set bail at 1000 dollars for larceny and firearms charges, spoke with him from the window and offered help to go home. Dickerson said he wanted to be helped and to escape drugs rather than die.
