Saxbe Campaign Swing Through Huron County

U S Senate candidate William B. Saxbe visits three Huron County communities next Wednesday meeting residents in Norwalk Bellevue and Monroeville with receptions set from 3 to 4 p m at Leed’s Catering in Norwalk and brief stops in Bellevue at 2 15 p m and Monroeville at 2 45 p m. Separately a sheriff’s seminar drew 56 officers from 16 departments on drug usage with speakers Detective George Ryan and pharmacist William Kelley. In court news Geraldine Robison faces a delinquency charge and Charlene Surgner pleads guilty to grand larceny with sentencing deferred.

Cincinnati approves milder anti riot ordinance

An anti riot ordinance giving city officials power to declare a state of emergency and take actions without council consent became effective today under an emergency clause. The measure passed the council 4 to 3 on Wednesday, a milder version than the original proposal.

Three Youths Held Over Freeing Horses at Huron County Fairgrounds

Three youths aged 15, 16, and 18 were cited to Juvenile Court on delinquency charges for releasing horses from stalls at the Huron County fairgrounds. A Tuesday incident and a Wednesday pursuit led to one youth’s capture and another’s later arrest, with an 18-year-old charged with contributing. Authorities withheld names of owners and suspects.

FBI probing Galt conspiracy as Galt’s alleged brother eyed

FBI sources in Birmingham say the alleged brother of Eric Starvo Galt may be in custody as agents pursue the man accused in the King slaying. Investigators note Galt bought a gun days before King’s death and spoke of a brother, with rooming-house checks under way. Memphis later charged Galt with murder.
