Johnson to Meet Park Chung Hee in Honolulu

The White House announced Johnson will meet in Honolulu next Wednesday with South Korea's president Park Chung Hee to discuss all matters of mutual interest. Gotaas Urges Five Mill Levy to Strengthen Norwalk Schools

Dr. Albion V. Gotaas explained to Norwalk Grassroots on Thursday night that a five mill school levy planned for May 7 would raise about $175 000. He urged replacing 13 cut positions, adding a reading specialist and counselors plus staff in elementary PE and art to reduce class sizes and support summer and adult programs. Transportation is state reimbursed, the cafeteria is self supporting, and slow learner programs receive state funds.

Milan asks state to check busy crossing on Route 601

Milan officials seek study by Ohio Department of Highways after a six year old was struck crossing Route 601. Parents form sidewalk petition. Indian Acres mothers patrol the highway with stop signs and guard gates while council urges sidewalk construction. Speed limit remains 35 mph as Route 601 is a state road.

Michigan man killed in Ohio Turnpike crash

A 29 year old from Michigan died after his 1962 Thunderbird left the Sandusky Norwalk ramp and struck a light pole. Passengers Beryl Kennedy 74 Reesie Kennedy 68 and Cora Kennedy 68 were treated at Fisher Titus and Providence hospitals. Norwalk firefighters also dealt with a grass fire at 197 Williams Street.

Woman Killed in Wellington Farm Accident

Lorain County sheriff reports 23 year old Phyllis Davis died and her 4 year old daughter Tammy was injured when a tractor operated by husband Donald Davis lurched forward, throwing them beneath the wheels on a Wellington area farm Thursday.
