The U S Geological Survey notes March rainfall averaged 1.58 inches in Ohio, 1.69 inches below normal, and groundwater levels remained below average, with a slight month-to-month decline.
The Civil Aeronautics Board found pilot intoxication caused the fatal private plane crash near Perrysville Ohio on September 2. George E Seaboyer of Ashland Ohio was the sole occupant as the aircraft plunged into Pleasant Hill Reservoir after minutes of low level flight. A critical bombs shortage in South Vietnam has reduced American bombing of Communist targets, prompting a crash program to restock supplies and restricting strikes to emergency targets.

She surpassed a 3671 mile mark earlier over Wichita with speeds up to 207 mph aided by tailwinds. Her husband Russell said two new projects are planned.
Postmaster Russell T. Grell said income tax returns mailed at letter drops inside the Norwalk Post Office by 8 30 p m will bear April 15 postmarks and be within the filing time limit. He also noted returns bearing April 15 postmarks will qualify and that street collection boxes with pre final pickup times will have April 15 postmarks.
