UPI reports dramatic snow flurries and near freezing temperatures disrupted a Chicago White Sox game televised on a local channel. Viewers endured heavy static until umpires halted play due to the weather on a spring day.
The final traces of a massive rock concert near Ontario California faded as police and promoters expressed surprise at the unexpected calm. More than 200,000 attendees filled the site, with little trouble reported and few incidents.

Detroit police report two Norwalk youths Deborah Nutter age 22 and Rennie Lee Bush age 22 were found shot to death in Bushs Detroit apartment likely last Wednesday. Both victims had strong ties to Norwalk and Edison High School, with Nutter a former Saginaw Wire plant employee who lost a hand in an accident. Funeral services planned for Tuesday for both victims.
