Nixon plan would grant Ohio about 427 million in 1972

UPI reports that under Nixon revenue sharing Ohio would receive about 427 million dollars in fiscal year 1972 across eight categories including education 101.8 million law enforcement 21.9 million manpower training 77.7 million urban and rural development and transportation funds. Also notes education would rise to 101.8 million, Ohio and California the only states to gain in that category.

Woman Receives Jolt While Bathing Bathing. baby survives accident

A rural New London woman Roberta Hill touched a faucet and received a heavy electrical shock in the tub while holding her baby. She released the infant unharmed and was rushed to a hospital with conditions not released.

Berkeley voters reject split police into three departments

In Berkeley California voters rejected a plan to divide the police into separate black white and university departments. Activists celebrated as their mayoral candidate won becoming the citys first black mayor and they claimed three of four council seats despite the defeat. A crowd of about 1000 packed the Civic Auditorium to watch computer tallies and cheered as results came in.
