Youth Faces Arson Charge In Series of Home Fires
Roy Burns an 18 year old roomer at 1742 North Monticello faces arson charges in circuit court for a set of fires on December 16 in the 1600 block of North Harding and at 1726 North Springfield. Police say Burns admitted setting eight fires including three on Harding. A neighbor reported a missing metal chip can possibly used to hold fuel.

Cicero Memorial Trophy Awarded at DePaul ROTC
Mrs. Gertrude Cicero widow of Army Captain Fedele Cicero presents the Fedele Cicero Memorial Trophy to ROTC Cadet William F Quinlan Jr at DePaul University. The trophy honors the first DePaul ROTC graduate to die in Vietnam and goes to the freshman cadet with the top rifle score. Delia Jones Sentenced for Doll Slaying in Chicago Shoplift Case
Delia Ann Jones received an eight to twenty year prison term for her role in the shooting death of Austin police Sgt. Gerald Doll. Horton fired the fatal blast after a robbery attempt. Jones pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and to armed robbery and auto theft.
