Seniors Expand Facilities at Franklin Drake Center
Expansion at the Franklin Drake Senior Center 440 North Drake enables the 14 story senior citizens residence to offer full services. An open house on December 28 from 1 30 to 3 30 p m introduces activities. A first floor loudspeaker system provides music for ceramics cards and coffee. Members voted to buy a record player and records for sing alongs. Coffee hours run 9 to 11 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Tuesday evenings feature a knitting class with knitting crochet and sewing. A board of education teacher runs a ceramics class making gifts for families. Rummage bake and candy sales funded a kiln for crafts. A pool table sparked a new activity with two members teaching. eight women now learn to play with plans for more after holidays. A bridge club began with strong interest and now runs three or four tables each Friday. A member who helped start the Sullivan Senior Center Bridge Club teaches here.

Husband Discovers Wife Hanged in Basement Home
Andrew Zygey awoke Sunday to find his wife Francis missing from bed. He searched the house and found her body hanging in the basement rafter. Ambulance crew cut her down. she was pronounced dead at Belmont hospital. Funeral arrangements set for Our Lady of Grace church and St Adelbert's cemetery.

A Tuberculosis Institute survey shows Chicago TB deaths in 1966 totaled 206 with 164 men and 42 women dying. Among those 45 and older, men far outnumbered women. New TB cases reached 1,977 with 1,390 men affected. The Grand Blvd area on the South Side registered 139 new cases and 23 deaths, while the Near West Side led with 267 new cases and 23 deaths.
