North Platte Hospital Earns State Accreditation

The North Platte General Hospital has been placed on the Nebraska State Board of Nurses accredited list, enabling graduates to register. Pupil nurses will receive a complete program with lectures and class work. Established in July 1916, the hospital owes much to Drs. Dent, Lucas, Simms, Redfield, and especially Miss Elsa Boyd for overseeing operations.

Beartown Found Dead on Union Pacific Tenecks at Sutherland

The body of Fred J. Beartown was found on the Union Pacific tenecks at Sutherland this morning. He was killed last night in an unknown manner. Identification came from a pressman’s union card in his pocket issued by the San Francisco union. It is supposed he was riding east on a train and fell off. County Attorney Halligan went to Sutherland to view the remit.

Universal Bell Ringing Urges Liberty Loan Subscriptions

A nationwide bell ringing to close Liberty Loan subscriptions is planned with nine o clock rings tonight tomorrow and Thursday. The Old Liberty bell in Philadelphia will lead the sequence under arrangements with President Wall of the Bell telephone system and local managers. in North Platte Manager Van Dollen will implement the order.

Nelson twenty, Cosgrove over thirty. Two rear-connected parked vehicles frightened by passing motorcycle. Durbin pursued in car, no damage. The Riders Go to Omaha featured in New Year story with Dewey Street then and now. Insurance advertised at low rates. J L Carroll and George H Wilkno of Gothenburg note Iddings mill improvements. Mill capacity set at 175 barrels daily.

Nebraska governors plan army quota by 1910 census

Governor Neville announces that state quotas for army mobilization will be based on the 1910 census and county votes for governor in 1916.
