Bids for a new garage on the John Ottenstein lot east of the J. W. Ramigh site were opened and awarded to McMichael Brothers for 11300. The 48 by 132 foot one story brick front building with tile trimming will have a truss roof and both street and alley entrances. Heating plant not included. Leased by Harry Hinkley to handle Cole 8 and Interstate cars. Victor F. Beck is architect supervising construction.

Espionage case opens as Grogs Davis and McKee plead not guilty
In federal court yesterday Pearl Grogs, Geo W Davis and Chas McKee pleaded not guilty to espionage and await a hearing when court reconvenes. Co L Christian pleaded guilty to liquor law violation and was fined 26 dollars plus costs, with a prior 100 dollar fine in state court. Sunday School observes Children's Day at Christian church with 43 men at morning session and a large evening program. The Women's Home Missionary Society of the Methodist church will meet Friday afternoon at the church parlors.

Bids Opened For Uga Hotel Project At City Office
The Richi Ugal hotel bid opening occurred at eight o clock in architect Victor F Becks office with out of town bidders present. Bids from McMichael Houghton Ansell and P Brooks ranged from about one thousand to seventy four thousand dollars. Ugal and guests adjourned to a luncheon at the architect s cafe as plans may be revised to cut costs to fifty five thousand.

New Passenger Rates Take Effect Promulgated by McAdoo
The new passenger rates issued by Director General McAdoo went into effect yesterday. Coach fare to Omaha rises from 6.09 to 9.14 with war tax. Pullman Omaha 12.86. Stockman Harshfield arraigned on sedition charge
John Harshfield, a prominent stockman from north of Sutherland, was indicted for sedition by a federal grand jury in Omaha. He was arrested by Deputy Marshal Lincoln and Sheriff Salisbury, arraigned before U S Commissioner Woodhurst, and released on 5000 bond. He pleaded not guilty and faces a June 24 jury hearing in federal court.
