C. R. Anthony plans to open about the first of March occupying the former Woodruff gentlemens furnishings building on the square. N A Hetherington will oversee preparations and the store will feature a full new furnishings set. Smith sustained a significant injury to his right hand after being kicked by a spare colt Monday night. No bones were broken. the back of the hand and wrist were cut, and the hand was bruised.

Ellis and Black arrested in Wewoka on charges of stealing five sets of rotary rock bits from the north oil field last summer. Black denies knowledge of the bits but admits knowing Ellis. Ellis confessed, saying he hid the bits near Wewoka and planned disposal at a lumber yard. Both men arraigned before Judge Johnson with bonds set at $1000 each.
The Swallow Airplane Company of Wichita demonstrated a three seat ship here Tuesday and Wednesday. Oakley firm’s Askew piloted the new craft Tuesday evening, praised by riders including John Green and wife, who found it among the best. West and Collins also test flew the plane, with West trading in his Standard ship for a Swallow.

Deputy Sheriff Emmet Delaney received a $100 reward from Hiram Stephens for aiding in the arrest of H. W. Neally, captured at the Ed Duffek farm near Perry. Neally faced charges over forged checks and whiskey transportation across Kay, Osage and Pawnee counties. ten gallons of whiskey were seized. Deputy Delaney assisted federal officers in the operation.

Friday afternoon a Dodge touring car and an oil truck collided near the intersection of 1st and Sixth streets. The car struck the truck in the center and nosed under the truck bed. The engine hood was badly damaged while the truck remained largely undamaged. The drivers’ names were not learned.
