City Council Moves to Sell Old Tower for Reimbursement
At Monday night meeting councilman Scheark said the city will sell the old T and H tower to cover tearing down costs. Councilman Lambert reported the T and H company ready to fill in the street. The city solicitor was instructed to seek costs from the suit. A revision of the express and drug ordinance was discussed but referred back. councilman Meyer added to report at the Wednesday meeting. The council adopted the revised ordinance on Wednesday evening, eliminating the license.

Miss Marian Sampey daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Sampey and Mr William H Jasper were wed at the bride's parents home in Newton. The ceremony occurred at 8 30 pm with about 100 guests, music from Lohengrin, flowers, and a grand reception. The groom, junior partner in Jasper & Sons, plans immediate housekeeping at the Ramer property. Guests traveled from Chicago Sidney Glenwood Cedar Rapids and others to celebrate the union.
