First Storm Of The Season Ravages Ira To Mingo

The OsKaloosa District W F M S held a productive Grinnell convention April 25 to 28 with Miss Alice Evans from Hyderabad India addressing sessions and Mrs. Thompson of Chariton aiding. Miss Evans led morning talks and, with Mrs. Thompson, spoke at night as the choir provided music. Mrs. Frank Russell of Newton was elected district treasurer for the coming year. Newton attendees included Mesdames Mobberly, Armstrong, Patterson, Battels, Owings, Russell, and Willits.

About three hundred tickets were sold at the Central station for members of local orders of Odd Fellowship traveling to the anniversary meeting in Oskaloosa.
