Iowa Soldier Justus Dunn Dies in Kansas at 63
Telegram confirms the death of Justus Dunn at his Iola Kansas home aged sixty three after a long illness. A veteran of the Third Iowa Infantry he spent four years including Libby Prison subsequent to war service. Survived by wife Hattie Burroughs and three daughters along with sisters Eliza Atwood and Sarah Allen and brother Asher Dunn. community mourns his passing.

A large wedding party gathered Tuesday evening January 14 at the Elk Creek home of Chas Weideman. Seventy five guests attended for the marriage of Miss Mary Weideman and Melvin Mick. Frank S. Harvey sells the bakery lot near the square to Mrs. W. O. Foster and Neel & Dowling buy the bakery stock to carry on the business at the old stand with Harry Decatur as manager. Knights of Pythias Lease Banquet Hall Space in Vaughan Building
The Knights of Pythias have leased the third story of the Vaughan crick building joining Union Block to create a banquet hall and kitchen. The dining room will be 22 by 88 feet and the kitchen 22 by 22. They aim for a handsome, convenient hall and expect completion for next month’s carnival. Miss Alma Van Giesen visited Des Moines last Tuesday.

Native of Kentucky, longtime Hendricks and Jasper counties resident, husband of Lucy Phillips until her death Aug 5 1908. Survived by three daughters Susie wife of J Smith Plattsmouth Neb Ada wife of Harry Van Epps and Dick husband of Wellington Jackson and Arthur A. E. Baugh principal at Gold Hill Nevada. Funeral held at Jackson home yesterday at 1 PM conducted by Rev J C Willits.

Bull Fight Fallout Leaves Frank Russell Bruised
Frank Russell ranked a local bull fight last Saturday as he led a young bull in the country. After releasing the rope the bull attacked him, tossing him and bruising him badly. Though the creature was a mul ey the assault could have been worse, and Russell needed several days to recover before resuming routine activities.

Death of John H Parker on East McDonald Street
John H Parker eldest son of H K Parker died at home on East McDonald Street yesterday morning January 22 at 11 o'clock after a long illness from ulceration of the bowels. He leaves a wife and three children. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at his late residence conducted by Rev J C Willits of the M E church.
