Acquittals in El Toro II sinking case in Maryland court
In St Marys County Maryland John Hanson Briscoe at 54 and Seph C Lore 32 were acquitted of three counts of involuntary manslaughter by vessel and related charges stemming from the December 5 1993 sinking of the El Toro II off the Chesapeake coast that killed three people. The non jury trial held in the circuit court found no evidence of gross negligence by the Lores amid claims corrosion caused the hull to fail while returning from a fishing ground.

Michael George Hamilton Jr. and Adam Keith Hamilton, brothers from Germantown, were arrested in Silver Spring and charged with theft and drug possession.
