United Lutheran Church delegates weigh world council ties
Buffalo New York hosts the biennial United Lutheran convention with over 1000 delegates debating links with the Federal Council of Churches and World Conference on Faith and Order. They consider missions in India and Britain, interchurch relations with Hungary and Czecho Slovakia, and plans for a Christian university in South India. Delegates will elect representatives to next summer’s Lutheran World Convention in Germany and vote on missions expansion to China and parts of Mexico, plus a push to move the Northwest Theological Seminary from Fargo to St Paul.
