EAA proposes aviation education building at Frederick airport
EAA Chapter 525 presented plans Thursday to the Frederick Airport Commission to construct an aviation education facility at the airport. The proposed building would host education, airplane construction and maintenance, storage, recreation, meetings and offices, with assurances no competition with existing airport businesses. A joint venture with Civil Air Patrol was suggested to share housing needs. Discussion stressed securing funding, as city and county funds are unavailable. Greiner Inc. outlined ten planning elements including inventory, forecasts, layouts, environmental and economic feasibility, public involvement and project management. Amanda Evy, daughter of Louis and Joe Ann Ambush, began freshman year at The University of Findlay in Ohio, after graduating Frederick High in 1994.
