Amusement workers urged passers by to play a game or ride a ride to offset Thursday rain losses at The Great Frederick Fair where ticket sales dropped over 85 percent from last year. Workers and officials anticipated a strong weekend crowd as students enjoyed free admission until 6 pm and ride discounts. Lehigh Cement plants ratify employee contract
Union Bridge plant workers approved a contract after three years without one. The accord includes a raise, grievance arbitration procedures, a larger pension fund, and a $500 signing bonus for each of the 150 employees at Lehigh Portland Cement Co.
