Farm Credit bailout plan eyed at 2.5 billion aid level
House Agriculture Chair E de la Garza said a 2.5 billion federal infusion for the Farm Credit System will wait two weeks as panels review a proposed secondary market and other reforms. The plan aims to protect 37 banks and nearly 400 lending associations from 4.8 billion in losses, offset by asset sales.
