Woman gets life sentence in gas station slaying
ANNAPOLIS AP An Eastern Shore woman Crystal Wessell of Grasonville was sentenced to life plus five years for the December 21 1981 execution style slaying of a U S Army Sergeant moonlighting at a Gambrills gas station. She was convicted of first degree murder and two handgun violations. Co defendant Earl Edward Burke 25 also of Grasonville faces trial in Chestertown on another case arising from a December incident at an Anne Arundel County service station.

First men astronauts chosen for space travel
A US space agency announced on Monday the selection of four astronauts for a space mission. Lichtenberg and Merbold were chosen as payload specialists from the technical staff at Marshall Space Flight Center.
