Twelve charged in Frederick area drug raid
Twelve people were arrested in a multi jurisdictional narcotics sweep conducted by the Frederick City Police Department and Maryland State Police. The arrests at Emmitsburg focused on possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, while others faced charges including manufacture and distribution of controlled substances. Additional arrests were anticipated as the investigation continued.

Pedestrian Dies In Md 350 Mishap
Frederick man Lawrence Walker, 30, died after being struck by a northbound car on Md 355 Friday night. Driver Christopher Lee Vanpettan, 29, was not charged. Walker previously suffered severe injuries in August 1970 on U S 40. Passenger Joseph Crog han of Clarksburg uninjured.

Irish Police Join In Search For Killers

Medina Still Faces One Murder Charge

Students Clash With Police in Saigon Demonstrations
In Saigon at least four districts saw antigovernment protests and anti American demonstrations. Militant students fought police at two compounds and firebombed an American car near a third. Two students were seriously wounded. National Assembly deputies protested Thieu, then were dispersed by teargas and concussion grenades. The Van Hanh University rally opposed compulsory ROTC training and Thieu’s candidacy. About 100 students protested. 50 tossed firebombs and rocks as riot police used tear gas and wicker shields to disperse the crowd.

University of Maryland Hikes Tuition for 1972 73
