Squirrel Hunter Shot In Fall Hunting Accident
Donald Rhoten a 29 year old fillin g station operator from Finksburg Md was shot in the face and neck with pellets from a 12 gauge shotgun while hunting near Lawndale. He remained in Maryland General Hospital Baltimore with injuries to his right eye as the first fall squirrel season opened and runs to Oct 15 with broader dates later. An eyewitness said he mistook movement for a squirrel and fired. A separate report notes a murder charge against George Cook in Mt Airy area and a preliminary hearing scheduled.
