William Barry Appointed Thurmont Middle School Principal

County Computer Ready For Election Returns Debut
A 9200 Univac computer in a pre election dry run processed mock returns from twelve precincts. Officials say the Sept 15 primary will use computer tallying for faster results with final figures expected by midnight Tuesday. Joseph Yeager directed the test with 73 precincts reporting to Winchester Hall. County accountant Thomas Fox oversees the process.

UM Leftists Publish Radical Guide For Freshmen
At the University of Maryland a leftist student coalition released a 112 page booklet titled The Radical Guide priced at 50 cents. It includes a Survival section with tactics for confrontations with police and a map marking likely targets on a campus of 33 500 students.
